 A Memory

Old black & white pictures stored with dust

Old memories, considered non sense.

But those moments were once alive,

they once filled out hearts and our minds.

Now, they are a burned out candle.

But that candle can have a flame,

only a memory can know…

I wrote this poem a few months ago, I really wanted to share it. What it is really saying is that sometimes memories are just forgotten, just like “old black & white photos stored with dust.” They are just stored in a closet, and not taken out of it, let’s say. They are like, a burned out candle, something that was taken with the wind. The mysterious part is that the candle “can have a flame.” I don’t really know how to explain that, but if you don’t understand it, read the poem again and think deeper, outside the box. It is kind of saying that some memories are so, important in your life, or so real, that they can light again or have a flame. Remember, only a memory can know…

Here is another poem I wrote, but it has no title:

Im sailing through the ocean,

everything fades away.

The only visible thing

is a lighthouse, guiding my way.

You are the lighthouse,

what I look up to find.

In the endless ocean,

you are my light.

Close together or far apart,

you are always in my heart.

And ill swim the ocean

or walk a thousand miles-

Just to be with you.

Just to see you smile.

I really like your poem! It tells me that important lost memories can light again. It sounds very unique and rhythmitic in a way, not in sound but it gives some sort of chant. Nice job by the way.
