I think you did a great job with this post. It is sad to see what our world has become; a violent, war-infested home. Why does it happen? Why is it that we NEED war? I'm sure people can come up with so many reasons, but are they the right ones? But if you think about it, without war our world would be perfect, and who wants a perfect world? Without the mistakes we make, we'll never learn from them; we become immune to those mistakes, just like when you first get the chicken pox. :P
I quote, "'Without suffering, there is no compassion.' 'Tell that to those who suffer...'" (A Walk to Remember) I find this very true. If we didn't have war, we wouldn't want peace. You understand what I'm saying? If we didn't have war, we wouldn't be constantly saying how much better our world would be without it, and how much better peace would be. Without one, there can't be another.
But you're still right. War and violence are never the resolve to people's problems. And you're wrong with one thing: People are trying to make a difference, people like you. :D

I think that you are right about war being everywhere. One time I just turn on my tv, and right away they were talking about Iraq. I never thought about the two being related. Nice work!
